Musical Futures at Forest Hill High School
- Several years implementing MF approaches
- Non-formal teaching in Year 8: film music, band instrumental work and non-western music (taiko drumming and salsa)
- Year 9 follow informal learning model
- All students use NUMU
Why Musical Futures?
“The five principles of the informal learning model, as outlined by Lucy Green, are one of the most innovative parts of Musical Futures – alongside aspects of co-construction of the curriculum. These two ideas – using student voice and the five principles – influence a large part of our curriculum, even when not directly a Musical Futures lesson.”
