Musical Futures at Harrogate Grammar School
- Four years implementing Musical Futures approaches
- Musical Futures embedded in all schemes of work with Non-formal teaching and Informal learning approaches used throughout KS3
- Musical Futures principles also adopted in KS4 and KS5 teaching
Why Musical Futures?
“Musical Futures is a way of teaching and interacting with your students. It is about valuing your students’ innate musicianship and their musical experiences outside of the classroom. It is about a joint learning experience where students actively take part in their own learning through making music and thus gaining the knowledge and skills required to continue progressing. It is difficult to think of lessons where the Musical Futures philosophy is not a major presence!"
