Why Musical Futures?
'I'm new at Haygrove this year, so after
seeing the success and outcomes of using Musical Futures principals at my
previous school (Tavistock College), basing new schemes of work on Musical
Futures ideas was logical. The feedback from students has been amazing - whole
group performances at KS3 for students used to individual work on keyboards has
been a revelation for most of them! Informal Learning & Non formal teaching
has really put the students at the heart of what we do, so, student engagement
and behaviour is not a problem, and all students are equally catered for. We
don't have loads of resources yet, but the students want to do what we propose
to them, and they make it work.'
