Musical Futures at Parklands High School

• Several years implementing the Musical Futures approaches
• Musical Futures in KS3 (Band Instrumental Work and Informal learning: in at the deep end / modelling aural learning) has significantly improved uptake at KS4 (BTEC First)

Why Musical Futures?

“Our ethos for music in Key Stage 3 is to equip our pupils with the skills and experience to continue their music making in the future, even if they do not choose to continue their music making at Key Stage 4. The independent learning skills, self and peer assessment, pupil engagement and level of challenge are learned through the Year 9 Musical Futures approach.”
