Musical Futures’ training  and CPD programme has a new structure for the academic year 2009-2010.

All training/CPD is led by our Champion Schools – experienced, innovative classroom music teachers who have already adapted and adopted Musical Futures in their schools. Training is practical, hands-on and aims to provide a realistic insight into how Musical Futures can be implemented in any teaching situation.

The courses are all free of charge, and open to anybody – from classroom teachers and peripatetic teachers, to Music Service/Local Authority staff, community musicians, students, and other arts and education professionals.

The 2009/2010 training/CPD programme falls into four types of training course. Each course builds on the new teacher resource materials Musical Futures: An Approach to Teaching and Learning and aims to give delegates practical ideas for either starting, or continuing, Musical Futures in their classrooms/teaching situations. The four types of courses available are:

·         An Introduction to Musical Futures

·         Musical Futures in Practice 1 (informal learning)

·         Musical Futures in Practice 2 (non-formal teaching)

·         Musical Futures in Practice 3 (embedding Musical Futures)

We strongly recommend that any delegates new to Musical Futures attend an introductory course as a starting point. The other three courses are designed for those who have already experienced implementing Musical Futures themselves.
