Across the country teachers are downloading and using the Musical Futures Transition materials, a full set of resources designed to be used by any teacher, non-specialist or specialist based on the song Passenger. The concept is simple. Year 6 pupils experience the song in some way whether it's singing to the backing track, workshopping the song or performing it in public. We have heard stories of non-specialist year 6 teachers singing in 3 parts with their classes and preparing a performance for leavers' assembly.Secondary music specialists using release time from GCSE and A level classes to visit primary schools to help year 6 learn the piece and large scale cross-phase performances between schools.

This resource logs the experiences of some of our Musical Futures champion teachers exploring the project for the first time and is a guide to just a few of the many ways in which the resources can be personalised and applied in the different contexts of each school.
