Musical Futures and the Secondary National Strategy Key Stage 3 Music Programme – a comparative analysis

Neither approach is compulsory or didactic, instead both have been designed to enable teachers to integrate some of all of the philosophies, methodologies and ideas into their own practice.

This document aims to outline the core similarities between the two initiatives and to offer suggestions for where the approaches differ. This is intended as a guide for teachers and hopes to demonstrate that teachers can deliver the National Strategy and Musical Futures simultaneously.

This comparative analysis is the companion to the Musical Futures teachers' resource pack in 4 sections that is available from this site.
